Outreach / Joy Club English Camp

JOY CLUB ENGLISH CAMP

We are so grateful to the Lord for all that He has done in ensuring our Joy Club English camp (October 11 and 12, 1999) went so well.

We want to thank each one of you who prayed for us regarding this evangelistic outreach.

Much planning went into the two days of camp, along with much prayer! We had around 43 students who came.

We believe it was a very worthwhile event, which included a varied program of activities. We had a special speaker (Rev. Sakurai) from one of the Joy Club churches, along with some singing around the camp fire (led by Scott Kinoshita, a current Joy Club teacher).

The next day, a testimony was given by one of the Joy Club students about how he came to know the Savior. This was followed by a short message by the Rev. Shojaku (from another of the Joy Club churches) and then a barbequeue, which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

The students, expressed their deep appreciation for all that we had done in putting together the camp. Some were also keen to "do it again" and asked us when the next camp would be.

Please continue to pray for the impact on the students of what they heard during the camp and also the many conversations which went on, during which many spiritual questions were asked. We do believe that the Lord brought along those whom He wanted to be there.

Pray for wisdom as the Joy Club teachers seek to follow-up those opportunities which they had during the time and that the students would continue to remain open to the Gospel, and the Lord would draw to Him, those whom He has chosen.
